Residence Hall Technology

WVU's Information Technology Services (ITS) provides support to all WVU students, including those living in residence halls.

Here are some important things that you should know:

  • Most WVU residence halls have wireless internet connections only. You MUST connect your laptops, desktops, tablets and phones to the WVU.Encrypted network. It provides secure transmission of data and remembers your login credentials as you move around campus.
  • To access the internet, select the WVU.Encrypted wireless network and enter your WVU Login username and password to connect your mobile devices and computer to the internet.

  • The WVU.Play network is for gaming consoles and smart devices such as TVs, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, AppleTV and Roku. All these devices must be registered by MAC address at before connecting to WVU.Play.

  • For more information on software, wireless printing, two-factor authentication and more,  visit the ITS  student technology resources  page. For assistance, contact the Service Desk at 304-293-4444 or visit .
