Spring 2018 Move In

Welcome To Your WVU Home

Spring 2018 Move-In

Moving in for the first time? Returning to campus for spring 2018 semester?  Here is some information that may be helpful as you plan your trip to campus.

New Student Orientation and Move In

Before you arrive, take a few minutes and explore the residence hall you will call "home."  When you arrive at your residence hall, you may check-in at the main desk. Staff will be there to answer any questions you may have and direct you to your new home.

Here is a list of suggested things to bring to your new home away from home. Don’t forget to talk to your roommate about what they are bringing (or might have if they are already in residence) and how to maximize the space in your room.

New Student Orientation

To help start the semester off right, we invite freshmen and transfer students to participate in New Student Orientation (NSO) on Thursday, January 4. For more information  Click Here.  Students participating in NSO should check their WVU email account for a message from the NSO team with instructions for Pre-NSO Prep, a detailed schedule for the day and items needed for a smooth transition to their  Mountaineer experience.

For residents attending New Student Orientation on Thursday, January 4, you may move into your residence hall following the conclusion of NSO - before the January 6 return of current students. There is a small fee associated with early move-in that will be between $25-$35 per day (depending on residence hall/room type). After move-in, this charge will be applied to your student account and can be paid prior to February 1 with the rest of your bill via the WVU portal.

Returning Students

Are you a returning resident of university housing? Residence halls will open at Noon, Saturday, January 6. Upon arrival, you must check in at the front desk of your residence hall. It will be a quick process; you will be marked PRESENT which will ensure that all your services are reinstated.

Late Arrival Procedure

If a student is not able to arrive on campus by the first day of classes, they must contact the Housing Assignments Office at 304-293-2811. If a student does not contact the Housing Assignments Office, their room assignment could be changed.
