Withdrawing from WVU
&
Procedure For Leaving The Halls

This information is for students who are withdrawing during the fall term and those not returning to WVU for the spring semester. Please rememer that housing contracts are legally binding for the entire academic year and that only students who are not attending WVU in the spring can leave the halls without penalty.

  1. If a student is withdrawing from the WVU for the fall, spring, or both terms, he/she must contact the Office of Admissions and Records to drop all classes. http://www.arc.wvu.edu/admissions/withdrawal.html
  2. In addition to notifying Admissions and Records, a student must complete the Housing Withdrawal Form. This form must be completed at the front desk of his/her residence hall between 8:00 – 4:00 Monday – Friday. Students in College Park – The Ridge should make an appointment with the RHC by calling 304-293-4686 or via email Michael.Lynch@mail.wvu.edu at least 24 hours prior to your expceted departure time.
  3. When the student has completely moved out, he/she must return his/her keys to the residence hall main desk and check-out. The keys should NOT be left in the room, given to a roommate, given to the RA, or given to a friend. (Lost keys should be reported to the main desk immediately.) Returning the keys to the main desk (or reporting lost keys) is the trigger that stops room and meal plan charges at the appropriate time as the Terms and Conditions in the housing contract direct.
