Lincoln Hall

Lincoln Hall is our newest residence hall and is within walking distance of many Evansdale Campus classroom buildings, the Coliseum, Milan Puskar Stadium (home of Mountaineer field), grocery stores and restaurants. Lincoln Hall residents eat meals in the Evansdale Residential Complex (ERC), which is right next door.

Lincoln Hall residents enjoy all the amenities of a modern residence hall - a state of the art 50-seat multi-media theater (for small classes, special programs, and movies), high-speed Internet connections, study lounges, and more. Lincoln Hall features suite-style accommodations: there are two students per room who share a bathroom with students in an adjoining room. Rooms include extra-long twin beds (36” x 80” sheets), study desks, hutches, chairs and dressers.

Lincoln Hall has several unique characteristics to offer its residents. Lincoln Hall’s motto is Domus A Domo, which means home away from home. The vision of the Resident Faculty Leaders, Dr. Sven & Lisa Verlinden, is to create synergy between academics and student social life. The Residential College Community Coordinator (RCCC), Alicia Moore, oversees hall operations. The RCCC, eleven Resident Tutors, and Wellness Coordinator help the RFLs in accomplishing the vision of the hall.

Lincoln Hall models its programmatic vision after the Oxford Residential College concept. This concept focuses on bringing faculty into the residence hall to promote one-on-one interaction between professors and students. There are eleven Faculty Fellows who teach a University 194 seminar within Lincoln Hall. This University 194 seminar, which substitues for University 101, is required for all Lincoln Hall freshman residents and helps build one on one student relationships with faculty. There are twenty Associate Members who conduct educational programs on a nightly basis. Lincoln Hall is truly a fantastic, academic-oriented, place to live! For more information and the supplemental application, please visit the Residential College web site. Priority deadline to apply is January 15.
