Summer 2016 – Room Rates at Pierpont Apartments
AVAILABILITY and ELIGIBILITY
Welcome to summer session at West Virginia University! The Department of Housing and Residence Life makes available WVU residence halls for summer session housing. This housing is provided for students enrolled in WVU classes/seminars and University related internships for credit. Proof of student status or other University affiliation is required. Students are permitted to reside in the Residence Hall only while their classes are in session. They are not permitted to remain in the Residence Hall when not registered or when classes have ended. Summer housing will be located in Bennett Tower on the Evansdale Campus.
Sunday, May 15 – move into the halls
Monday, May 16 – first day of classes and registration
Monday, May 30 – Memorial Day recess
Monday, July 4 – Independence Day recess
Friday, August 5 – vacate assigned space by 4:00p.m., final day of summer classes
The last date to cancel the housing contract: the day before your summer classes are scheduled to begin.
Please Note: The rates listed below are for the room only.
One Week – Single Rate $189.25 – Double Rate $150.90
Six Weeks – Single Rate $1,135.42 – Double Rate $905.30
Twelve Weeks – Single Rate $2,270.83 – Double Rate $1,180.60
There are no refunds for partial weeks. Refunds will not be made except in the event of withdrawal from WVU (proof required).
CHECK-IN and CHECK-OUT
Students arriving for summer session (without reserved housing) should come to the Assignments Office, M-63 Brooke Tower. Office hours are 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays (weekends and holidays excluded).
Students arriving for summer session (with reserved housing) should go directly to the Bennett Main Desk on the assigned move-in date.
If arriving when the Assignments Office is closed, students should report to the Bennett Main Desk. If summer session housing was reserved in advance, students will be given their assignment and keys at the Bennett Main Desk. If summer session housing was not reserved in advance, students may be accommodated temporarily on a space available basis for one night only and report to the Assignments Office the next day. Students must check out of a temporary room by 12:00 noon the next day.
Last day of your summer session class is also the last day of the summer session housing. Please make note of this and make arrangements to remove your belongings by 4:00 p.m., as NO exceptions will be made.
Students are permitted to reside in the Residence Hall only while their classes are in session. They are not permitted to remain in the Residence Hall when not registered for classes, when classes have ended, or the period between classes.
CANCELLATION OF THE HOUSING CONTRACT
The last date to cancel the housing contract: the day BEFORE your first summer class is scheduled to begin.
ACCOMMODATIONS and MEALS
Bennett Tower is located on the Evansdale Campus just off of University Avenue. All rooms are carpeted, air-conditioned, and the floors have two community baths. Students must provide their own sheets, pillows, blankets, towels, and telephone.
Students are responsible for the care and cleaning of the rooms. Custodial service is provided for public areas only. Rooms must be returned to their original condition when vacated. Any damages beyond normal wear and tear (as determined by the Facility Manager) will be charged to the student. Additionally, student will be charged for non-returned keys.
ResNet is available at no additional cost.

A Resident Assistant will live with the summer school students and will be available to assist students. Students are responsible for conducting themselves within the guidelines of all Housing and Residence Life, and WVU policies (found in the “Campus Living Booklet” and “Eyes and Eers”) as well as State of WV laws and regulations. Please note, alcohol is prohibited in all WVU residence halls. Monongalia Health Department regulations prohibit smoking in all public areas. Additionally, you may contact the Bennett Tower Main Desk at 304.293.2813 for assistance.
PARKING and TRANSPORTATION
Students can contact the Parking Office at 304-293-5502 for parking availability.
The PRT will be down for summer maintenance May 7 through August 15. The PRT will re-open on August 15.
Bus Service is available Monday through Friday. The shuttle bus will leave the Coliseum for the Engineering PRT station every fifteen minutes from 7:30 a.m. to 6:15 p.m. Monday through Friday. If services are needed at other times, you should check out the schedule for the Mountain Line. The Mountain Line is free upon presentation of a WVU Student ID. There is no WVU bus services on days when there are no classes. There is no WVU weekend service.
