Frequently Asked Questions

I want to live on campus again next year, when do I need to apply?
Housing and University Apartments is accepting applications from returning students for the Fall Semester. Call 304-293-2811 for more information and to request an application.

Am I required to purchase a meal plan?
Yes, all residence hall students must have a meal plan.

I heard that only a limited number of current students could return to campus housing. Is this true?
Yes, there will be a limited number of applications accepted for the 2007-08 year. Once this number is reached, applications and deposits will be returned via mail to your local mailing address.

What if I miss the deadline to submit my application?
You can check back in the Housing Assignments Office in late February to see if we are accepting any new applications. Otherwise, please contact the Office of Student Life for assistance in locating suitable housing off-campus.

I really need a single. What are my chances?
That’s hard to say. There are not many single rooms available and they are assigned on a first come-first serve basis. If you are unable to select a single room you can get on the wait list for one.

I want or need to cancel my housing. What do I do? Will I be penalized?
Once you are assigned a room, your contract is binding for the academic year. It may be cancelled and a partial refund will be issued to the account, if a letter of cancellation is received in the Housing Assignment Office on or before May 1. If you are not returning to WVU you can also cancel online at www.sa.wvu.edu/cancel.

I'm on deferred removal, can I still apply for housing?
No, students who are on Deferred Removal or are placed on Deferred Removal before the end of the academic year are not eligible to return to the residence halls. These contracts will be cancelled.
